iSpy was created based on Doug McCune’s Simple Flex Motion Detection example In addition to Doug’s web based motion detector, iSpy uses the AIR File and FileStream classes with the JPEGEncoder class to do its magic.
If there is a level of motion that exceeds the sensitivity level, it will either take a quick snap shot and display on screen or if “Save pics to disk” is checked it will also save a copy to the user’s picture/iSpy directory. Have fun with it, I hold no responsibility for the pictures you capture.
Adobe technology platform ActionScript reference for RIA development has been released as a free PDF. This is a huge compilation of the entire ActionScript language. For more info please visit the Adobe Developer Connection here or download it here.
I have also added this to the resources section of this site.
Unless you have been under a rock recently you have noticed that 3D Flash is all the rage. Sandy 3D, Away3D, and PaperVision3D all have had a lot of press lately and what they are able to produce is simply amazing.
Are you currently using one of these libraries or another that I have omitted in production? Please let me know as I would love to see what you have created and may also ask you to write about your experiences in 3D Flash for InsideRIA.com.
Steven Gemmen of http://initapp.com/ has just released a new AS3 library for Pounce. The library is being hosted on Google Code which as you know means it is open source. I have also added this to my AS3 libs page. Here is the post by Steven and the link to the code and docs.
Those of you who may have benefited from AS3 over the past year and a half now need to be aware that there is a new decompiler out to extract your SWFs as well as those in the AS2 days. Although it did decompile my Flex 3 app, in my testing, it is failing for AIR compiled SWF’s.
