Strange Bedfellows

I was setting up a new machine today and went and grabbed the Java JRE. During the install I saw a few interesting screens.

First was the option to install the Bing toolbar which caught me a little off guard as I was unaware of a partnership between Microsoft and Sun/Oracle.

Next, was the ad for Star Office which is basically taking a shot at Microsoft and offering their free alternative to the Microsoft flagship Office product.

So, does anyone else find this as amusing as I do? :-)

    humorous, yet sad. Obviously Sun needs money. I wish IBM had bought them… Just not sure what Oracle is going to do with all the great Sun technology. Looks like the yahoo toolbar has morphed to the bing… I mean yabing toolbar.
