As an Android user, I am very happy to hear the news of Android joining the Open Screen Project and the announcement that Flash Player 10 will be coming to Android very soon.

Rich, just to clarify — I’ve heard confirmed from various people at Adobe what is running on the HTC Hero is Flash Lite 3.1.
What will be available in October is a “developer release” of Flash Player 10 for mobile. I’m not sure how close we are to having end user smartphones with Flash Player 10 support, most likely some time 2010.

Might also be worth to note that it is HTC who is joining the Open Screen Project — though Android is a targeted platform for the unified platform its not formally a partner:

@Rich, you might want to update the title of your post as it’s a bit misleading. As Peter said, it’s Flash Lite 3.1 that’s coming to Android very soon, Flash 10 is coming at some vague time next year.
