Free AIR Signed Certificate

A few weeks back Adobe gave me a free Thawte certificate for doing signed AIR applications. They did this because I was an early adopter of Adobe AIR. If you have downloaded any of my applications posted on the AIR Marketplace, you will see that they are now classified with the yellow caution rather than the red warning. This was a very generous offer ($300 value) and I am glad to say that Adobe has extended this offer to everyone.

You will need to be able to provide proof that you and your business are who you say they are. This is the same screening you go through when applying for a SSL certificate.

To take advantage of this offer simply contact Adobe at ThawteOnMarketplace@adobe.com or visit http://www.adobe.com/products/air/assets/popup/thawte_popup.html for more information.

That’s a sweet deal, especially for the independent developer trying to break-in with his/her cool application..

Heck, I even wrote the article on DevNet for signing AIR applications and couldn’t get a certificate to help write the article! (Has more to do with timing than anything, though.)

Check out the article how to’s: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/air/articles/signing_air_applications.html
