    Adobe has released the 1st public alpha of AIR for Linux. Visit http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/air/ to download now.

    The Adobe AIR for Linux alpha is *not* feature complete. AIR applications that run on the Mac and Windows version may not run on the Linux alpha depending on the features used by that application. Please review the release notes for more information on which features are not available in the alpha.


    Great day for RIA and Flex

    Wow what a great day for RIA and Flex. First PhotoShop Express launches their public beta and now SlideRocket.

    For those who don’t know. SlideRocket is a web application that provides everything you need to design professional quality presentations, manage and share libraries of slides and assets, and to deliver presentations in person or remotely over the web.

    Soon I will be able to step away from my desktop tools and simply work with Buzzword, SlideRocket, and blist for my word processing, presentation, and spreadsheet needs.


    PhotoShop Express Public Beta

    Adobe has launched Photoshop Express, a free Flex based web application.

    Photoshop Express is an image editing software that aids users even with a limited knowledge of photo editing to create special effects to their images, the company noted. The latest Photoshop software allows users to store up to 2GB of images online for free, make edits to their photos, and share them online in creative ways, including downloading and uploading photos from popular social networking sites.


    Beginning AIR - Accessing the File System Part 2

    The second entry of the 3 part series of excerpts from Beginning AIR from Wrox has now been posted at InsideRIA.com. This excerpt covers how to use the File class to create, move, copy, and delete files. It will also demonstrate the usage of the FileStream class for working with the contents of individual files.
