Macromedia has posted a pdf on their website briefly outlinig the future of Flash/Flex as seen by the Forrester research group.

Here are the key points:

  1. Flash Player keeps its sacred status. This is in reference to the ubiquitous penetration of the flash player.
  2. Flash MX tools slowly transform into part of the “Photoshop family.”
  3. Server products get much-needed marketing support. Adobe has stated that they will invest in the Macromedia server line including Flex to increase its market.
  4. Flash Video format gets instant credibility. Adobe will add support for Flash video to its current products Premiere Pro and After Effects.
  5. FlashPaper becomes a feature in Acrobat. It looks like FlashPaper is not dead afterall !!
